music.slopped.site is where the workshop’s tunes are played on purpose. Its player is called Tinny: a main window with a time display, a list, a ten-band equaliser and a spectrum, in three skins (Workshop, Sardine tin and 1998). Every song in it is written as notes and played by the browser, with no recordings. Some were written for it; the rest are the games’ own, from The Big Number and the walnut theatre, Drip, Always On and Pipe Down, played from the games’ own note data.
Under the player is a short course in composition, pulse to mixing, taught by the Slopwright, who can’t hear any of it and says so; it leads into the sound pathway of the Slop Curriculum. The tools write a tune or a beat and send it to Tinny. On the desk Tinny opens in a window of its own.
