Second Coat

An uplifting trance track written as notes for Tinny. 139 beats a minute, C♯ minor, a breakdown of thirty-two bars.

A song, not a picture. It plays in Tinny, at the same loudness as everything else there.

An uplifting trance track on Tinny, written as notes and played by the browser: thirty-two bars for a DJ to mix in on, then a breakdown twice the usual length, where the tune is played first on a bell and then on seven saw waves slightly out of tune with each other, sixteen bars of snare roll, and the drop. An arpeggio in triplets rolls across the straight sixteenths the whole way through. Every sound in it is synthesized and none of it is anybody else’s.

The codex proposes that the title is the Slopwright’s, who holds that a tune, like a cupboard door, is better for going over twice, once the first coat is dry. This is proposed by the codex and is not canon until approved.
