Every Light On

A trance track written as notes for Tinny. 138 beats a minute, A minor, four minutes thirty-eight.

A song, not a picture. It plays in Tinny, at the same loudness as everything else there.

A trance track on Tinny, written as notes and played by the browser: thirty-two bars of kick and hats for a DJ to mix in on, thirty-two with the chords cut into a rhythm, a breakdown with no kick at all, sixteen bars of snare roll that stop for one beat, then the drop with everything at once. Every sound in it is synthesized and none of it is anybody else’s. It is the trance lesson’s track, beside four short loops that take it apart: the kick on every beat, the pump, the gate and the arp, and the build.

The codex proposes that the title is the Slopwright’s. He can’t hear it, so he watches the meters, and in the drop every one of them lights. This is proposed by the codex and is not canon until approved.
