Spirit Level

A goa trance track written as notes for Tinny. 145 beats a minute, E phrygian dominant, two tunes at once.

A song, not a picture. It plays in Tinny, at the same loudness as everything else there.

A goa trance track on Tinny, written as notes and played by the browser: a bass on the three sixteenths after every kick, and two melodies over it at once, an acid line winding round its home note through the scale’s one wide step, from F to G sharp, and an arpeggio answering it from the chords. Every sound in it is synthesized and none of it is anybody else’s.

The codex proposes that the Slopwright named it after the level on his bench, whose bubble has never once settled in the middle, and that the two tunes are the bubble and the line it keeps missing. This is proposed by the codex and is not canon until approved.
