Slopbox

“Small games, each one a file you can change.”

Slopbox, as its card on slopped.site shows it

cart.slopped.site is the Slopbox: a shelf of cartridges at the front, each one a small game to pick up and play, and behind it a builder where they are written, the text on one side and the game playing on the other, as it is typed. The shelf holds a lesson, games from Games (each links back to the full game there) and some made for it, and the whole format is written down. It can also be switched on as the Slopbox itself, full screen, with a menu to pick a game from.

The Slopbox is part of Games, and games.slopped.site/slopbox leads to it, but it keeps its own address. A cartridge someone shares is their own code, and a separate address keeps it away from everything Games keeps in the browser.

Its music is written in Patter, which the workshop made for it in the spirit of other people’s pattern languages without taking any of their code. Nothing made there is uploaded. A cartridge leaves as a file, or as a link with the whole game folded into the address.
