Side A
A cartridge: a motorway at sunset that runs inside a cassette, the length of side A.
Only played, as a cartridge. The capture on the Slopbox is the picture.
A The cartridge on the Slopbox, signed by the Slopwright. He fitted a motorway inside a cassette, with a sunset at the far end that the road never reaches. It runs the length of side A: four tracks, each begun at a gate. The tape is the clock, and every gate winds a little more of it on. Cabs, vans and lorries share the road and keep to their lanes; the lamp posts along the verge do not move for anyone.
The road, its bends and hills and the sunset are drawn by the cartridge’s shader from four numbers the game hands it; the traffic grows by picking one of eight sizes of picture. Like everything else here, it was made by a machine.
