The valet lot
Six bays by six at the edge of the grid, lit in magenta, with the sun going down behind a skyline of towers.
Only seen in a cartridge. The codex won’t draw one.
Where the motorway of Side A runs out at the edge of the grid: a square of asphalt, six bays by six, ringed in neon, with an exit chevron on one side and the towers on the horizon. Cars are left here before a show at the Neon Void, and the valet fits them in as tight as they will go. Planters with palms in them stand in some of the bays and are never moved. The sun never quite sets while anyone is still parking.
It is not the car park under the store, which is the store’s, with its numbered bays and its engine idling somewhere; this one is lit, and everyone in it is leaving.
