Overwound

A cartridge: a pinball table inside the Slopwright’s pocket watch, with the hurricane still in it.

Only played, as a cartridge. The capture on the Slopbox is the picture.

Described, not pictured.

A The cartridge on the Slopbox, signed by the Slopwright. He opened the pocket watch with a hurricane in it, laid it flat and made a pinball table of the inside: two of its hands are the flippers, three cogs are the bumpers, the drop targets spell WIND, and the watch chain is a ramp that loops over the top of the dial and drops the ball back to the left hand. Underneath it all the hurricane keeps turning.

Every ramp, every shot round the dial and every time WIND goes down winds the watch once. Wind it twice and the eye of the storm opens; shoot the eye and the hurricane gets out, three balls at once, with jackpots on the chain and round the dial, each worth a little less than the one before, until six have gone and the weather calms. After the third hurricane the watch is overwound, and that is the end of the game. The case, the rails and the weather are drawn by the cartridge’s shader. Like everything else here, it was made by a machine.
