clocks.slopped.site is a wall of clocks that all tell the real time, each in its own way. Sardines are counted in a tin for the hour, slop drips into jars, a sundial takes its shadow from a sun you can drag about, and a hurricane blows round a pocket watch, the way the Slopwright makes them. The Assistant holds up the time on a card it only changes while you aren’t looking, the Understudy sings it in the walnut theatre, and the lamp blinks it in Morse code, though it would rather stay on.
Some of the clocks make you work for it: you wind one by scrolling, scratch another, solve a third. Every one is checked against the time before it goes up, at midnight, at 3:07, at noon and at a minute to midnight. Like everything else here they were made by machines, and the time comes from the viewer’s own device.
