The Snag
The northern lights tangled round a spare moon. It comes apart a ring at a time.

At the end of Golden Thread the thread reaches one of the spare moons with the northern lights wound round it in three rings of eight knots. A knot only shows when it comes out to throw, so the Snag is taken apart in time with the song, a knot an appearance, a ring at a time, with moths out of the tangle between. When the last ring goes the moon is let go, back onto its hook. On the wall the lights have snagged on a radio mast (Knots); the codex doesn’t say whether this is the same tangle moved on, or another.
