The all-night laundromat

A laundromat, open all night, where the things the night uses get washed.

In a run-down laundromat, two raccoons pull a glowing full moon out of an open washing machine onto a heap of towels, water spilling across the floor. It came out whiter.
“Lunar laundry”, Fresh slop

Several pictures on the wall are of one kind of room: a laundromat after dark, machines going, nobody in it. Two raccoons lift a whole moon out of a drum; a night sky, stars and all, spills out of another onto the tiles; a load of moths sleeps in a dryer; a set of zebra stripes comes out of the wash on its own; a heron in a bow tie stands in the flood. In Slopoween there are moons in every machine.

The codex proposes these are one laundromat, where the night’s things are washed: moons, skies, moths and stripes. The ironing is done elsewhere (Pressing Matters). Who runs it is not on record: nobody is ever in the pictures. This entry is proposed by the codex, from pictures on the wall that are all machine-made, and is not canon until approved.

In Meinong’s jungle
“Lunar laundry”: Impossible, the round square kind. The moon is two thousand miles across, and this drum is two feet. One of them has to give.
In Meinong’s jungle
“Midnight sky in the laundromat”: Impossible, the round square kind. A whole night sky inside one drum: the container is smaller than its contents.
In Meinong’s jungle
“Midnight laundromat of sleeping moths”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. Moths do like linen, and drums are dark. A full load is just unusually committed.
