Rainbows, handled
Rainbows on the wall that can be pegged, dropped, quarried and ridden.

On the wall a rainbow is a solid thing, and people have got their hands on it. Over a green valley a blue clothes peg is clipped to one like washing; in a wet car park one has fallen and broken into glass shards in the puddles; in a quarry one runs into the rock face and carries on as coloured stone; on a sunny lane a bicycle stands on two of them for wheels.
A rainbow, left out long enough, can be handled like any other length of something, and breaks like one too. Like everything on the wall, the pictures are machine-made.

- “Blue peg clamps a rainbow”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. Light has no edge to grip. This rainbow has one, and a peg on it, like washing on a line.
- In Meinong’s jungle
- “Shattered rainbow on wet asphalt”: Impossible, the round square kind. A rainbow is light and angle with no body to break. This one came down glass and smashed.

Pieces of Fresh slop with one like it in them. The pictures don’t say they are the same one.
