The galley

A long tray that set type waits in until somebody pulls a proof. On the desk it holds pages.

Only drawn, as the Galley icon. What is set in it belongs to whoever set it.

The Galley, in the Tools folder on the desk: write a page in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and its proof is pulled beside it as you type. It starts from a 1998 homepage, an outfit for a tiny manual, Toast run (a tiny game in the Curriculum’s game spec) or a blank page, and it will take a copy of a real page off the workshop’s sites to take apart: a homepage off GeoCities, the CSS garden’s manual in one of its outfits, a clock off Clocks, an exhibit off Bad UI. What is set in it is kept in the biscuit tin and leaves only as a zip.

The proof is pulled behind glass: the page runs, but it can’t reach the desk, the tin or anything outside. Nothing set in the galley is ever printed anywhere else.
