The gallery in the Neon Void

A raised floor across the back of the Neon Void, up six steps from the dance floor, behind a thin rail. From it the whole rig shows at once: the moving heads over the stage, the pixel wall, DJ Sloppy Droppy small behind his booth between the stacks. You can walk up to it at the club.

Nobody built it. It is the rim of the broken loudspeaker’s cone, seen from inside: the stiff ring that once held the cone to its frame, gone flat and wide the way everything in the Neon Void is wider than it should be. The bubbles that drift up through the haze come past it at eye level, which is why people stand there. The gallery is lore the codex has proposed, waiting for approval.
