The trolleys

Shopping trolleys left out in a car park after closing, getting on with it.

In an empty car park at dusk, three shopping trolleys each stand under their own small rain cloud, rain falling only on them. Nobody is returning them now.
“Three carts under private storms”, Fresh slop

On the wall the trolleys are always in a car park at dusk, with the store shut. Three stand in a row, each under its own rain cloud. One has moulted, and its old shell stands beside it in amber; it is bigger now and still pulls left. One has snails for wheels and is going nowhere fast.

Which store they belong to the pictures don’t say. The codex proposes that they are like the furniture in the showroom, which moves when nobody is looking, and that the car park is where they go after closing. This entry is proposed by the codex, from pictures on the wall that are all machine-made, and is not canon until approved.

In Make Do: Deep End three trolleys roll up and down the aisles of the stockroom proper, turning at the ends, and wait while you stand in front of them.

“Three carts under private storms”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. Weather that follows one trolley around is very local, though nothing about it contradicts.

“Shopping cart on snail wheels”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. Snails as castors is a design choice, a poor one. Nothing about it contradicts itself.
