The swatch book
A fan of colour cards on one rivet. Each picture on the wall has a page of its own.
The Swatch book, in the Tools folder on the desk, fans out the colours of any piece of Fresh slop in season: six cards a picture, biggest share first, each with a plain name and its hex, copied with a press. The colours are the ones Scroll uses to match one picture to the next; the names are the nearest of a short list of plain ones, and none of them is a brand.
The codex proposes that it hangs on a nail by the bench, and that the Slopwright has never once matched a paint to it. This is proposed by the codex and is not canon until approved. Like the rest of the desk it is machine-made, rivet and all.
