Smaller and smaller
Things on the wall with a smaller one inside, and a smaller one inside that.

On the wall the smaller one is always in there. A cracked egg in a marsh nest is full of smaller eggs; a halved peach shows smaller and smaller pits nested at its centre; a mandarin’s peel runs on through a smaller orange to a smaller one still, and a whole orange sits in spirals of its own peel that hold another small orange within; a large tennis ball sits beside a second ball that looks like its tiny twin; a white teacup sits inside an oversized tea bag; a brass elevator opens onto a corridor of more brass elevators that narrows to a point, and a vacuum cleaner’s hose runs to a point at the far end of a long lavender hallway. On a blue enamel table five eggs sit inside each other (Eggs, generally).
The codex proposes that this is the same trick as Places, packed and Rooms inside done in a different order, and does not say where it stops. This entry is proposed by the codex, from pictures on the wall that are all machine-made, and is not canon until approved.

- “Recursive hatching in an abandoned marsh nest”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. A cracked egg in a marsh nest contains a clutch of smaller eggs. The family tree begins early.
- In Meinong’s jungle
- “Stone fruit recursion”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. A peach reveals smaller pits nested inside its own. It saved the best seed for last.
- In Meinong’s jungle
- “An endless orange peel”: Possible, the golden mountain kind. A single strip of peel passes through three shrinking oranges. Each fruit is smaller than its argument.

Pieces of Fresh slop with this in them, grouped here by the proposal. The pictures don’t say they are the same one.
