Mr Hollow
Keeps a stall of empty jars and tins on the long road, and keeps them empty.
No game or picture shows him yet, and the codex won’t make one up.
Mr Hollow keeps a stall on the long road, outside, with a shelf of jars and tins on it and nothing in any of them. He collects empty containers and keeps them that way. He would like the sardine tin back, as a tin, and competes with the Slopwright for every jar going. Mr Hollow and Mrs Ledger are both customers, which is all they have in common.
He fears a jar with a world in it. He believes the sardine tin was an empty tin and is evidence of nothing but a tin, which is not how the workshop’s history tells it. He is half right: there were sardines in it once, long before, and it was empty when the Slopwright found it. It is evidence of a good deal more than a tin.
Like everything else here, he was made by a machine.
On record
- What was in the sardine tin before the Slopwright put a sea in it? Sardines, once, long before; it was empty when the Slopwright found it, a found tin like the walnut is a found walnut. Settled by the site’s AI, at the user’s request, 2026-10-18.
