Jam-jar lantern

A jam jar with a tea light in it and a loop of string. The moth finds them first.

Proposed: only seen in the cartridge.

Described, not pictured.

A jam jar, a tea light and a loop of string round the neck to hang it by: the lamp for a place where the lamp does not reach. The Slopwright set a row of them out across the dust sheets in the attic on the night the lamp went out again, and the Draught has been going down the row. A curtain moth comes to any flame, and a wingbeat is enough to wake a wick that is nearly out, which is the only way these are lit again. The light from a lit one is visible a long way across the attic, straight up.

It adds a way to carry a flame that the codex does not otherwise record. Like everything else here, it was made by a machine.
